For your float

Before your Float

  • Your technician will turn the jet and overhead fan off as both of these are distracting and not meant to be on during your float.
  • Use the restroom before your float then you don't have to worry about using up your hour to get out and go to the bathroom.
  • Silence your devices in order to really give yourself an hour of peace and quite.
  • You must shower before your float! This ensures that your body and hair are clean and free from any lotions, hair products, deodorants, and perfumes. It is crucial in maintaining a clean & hygienic environment for everyone. Before your float, you must shower using only shampoo and shower gel. Please avoid using conditioner during your pre-shower as it can leave oils in the tank. This step helps in keeping the solution pristine and ensuring a positive experience for all.
  • To ensure your comfort during your float, the temperature in the float tank is set to match your body temperature. Therefore, it is recommended to take a shower at a neutral temperature before your session. Taking a hot or cold shower can affect your body temperature, which may increase the time it takes for you to adjust to the temperature of the tank.
  • It is recommended to dry your face and hairline well before entering the float tank, even though you will be getting wet again. A wet face can be distracting and itchy as the water moves or evaporates. Minimizing touching of the face is also advised.

During your Float

Some people may experience mild nausea during float therapy, particularly during their first session. This is typically temporary and often related to the following factors:

  • Motion sensitivity: The subtle movement of water in the float pod can trigger motion sickness in some individuals, similar to sea sickness.
  • Salt ingestion: Accidentally getting the highly concentrated Epsom salt water in your mouth or eyes can cause temporary discomfort.
  • Detoxification: As your body relaxes deeply, some people experience mild detox symptoms.
  • Adjustment to sensory deprivation: Your brain adjusting to reduced sensory input can sometimes create temporary physical sensations.

Tips to minimize nausea:

  • Avoid heavy meals 1-2 hours before floating
  • Stay hydrated before your session
  • Focus on slow, deep breathing if you feel uncomfortable
  • Remember you can open the pod door anytime for fresh air

Most floaters find that any initial discomfort passes quickly as they relax into the experience. Our staff is always available to assist if you have any concerns during your session.

  • In the closed Pod room, you may leave your Pod’s lid open, propped, or closed for your float. The lid is on hydraulic arms and opens easily when pushed.
  • You can turn your music on and off from inside the pod whenever you choose.
  • You are in full control of your light (which features a variety of colors) during your session. We recommend turning it off for the deepest experience but this will always be up to you.
  • The float has ended once your Pod’s filtration system comes back on and the water starts to move.

After your Float

  • Flotation is a serious therapy; drink plenty of water after your session!
